Original work

Taminga Connell

Bunuba and Gija woman, painting the Kimberley from Kununurra.

Her name means strong white gum tree — resilience, and connection to the land. She came to painting through art therapy, and the work that grew out of it is contemporary and deeply personal, drawn from dreams, visions and stories, past and present.

Her work hangs on walls around the country. It has also been painted onto helicopters, onto eyewear and onto walls as murals, through work with Corsair Aviation, Pearls of Australia, PHI and CNHI.

Or have one made for you

Share the size, the colours and the style you are drawn to — the creative decisions stay with Taminga, which is the reason to commission rather than order. Twenty per cent starts the work, the turnaround is around six weeks, and she packs every finished painting herself and ships worldwide.
